Welcome to the Fall Season!

Games kicked off this week for some, and for others they were rained out. Our Juniors team came out on top defeating the Palm Bay East Pirates for the first district victory of the Fall Season, congrats to them!

We have a few updates and reminders for you.

If you have not conducted a finger print background check, you may not be on the field or helping coach, umpire, or any activity with any kids in any capacity. This is not a Little League restriction, but a Brevard County restriction. The same goes for the Little League Background Check, which is separate. If you have not formally gone through the process to be a volunteer, please do not go onto the field.

The concession stand schedule will be coming out this week. Each team is assigned concession duty. If you did not pay the non-volunteer fee, there is an expectation that you give back to the league and volunteer to work the concession stand. We have detailed directions and have made it pretty easy. A League official will always open and close the concession stand prior to volunteers working the concession stand.

Umpires are volunteers, and some of them will be kids. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and remember they are volunteers. Your child's success or failure in baseball is not defined by a single play or game when they are a child playing Little League, please remember that when you begin to argue or criticize an umpire. Nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes.

We believe in delivering positive attitudes. The fall is about development in every league. Please be encouraging of your own kids, but also other kids, especially when they make a mistake. Baseball is a game of failure, but it is also a game of learning, remember they are kids and not professionals.

The only bats allowed for use are those with a USA logo. The use of USSSA bats is strictly prohibited by Little League, do not even bring those bats into the dugout.

In Majors and Juniors players may use a wooden bat, and as long as it is solid one piece it does not have to have the USA logo. Details on bats can be found HERE

Thank you everyone for entrusting your kids with our league! We hope you have a great season!

- Stephen Baughn, SBLL President
